Wine Classes Winter 2013

Winter 2013 Wine Classes

I have three wine classes coming up this winter through Burnaby Continuing Education.  You can register for one, two, or all three classes.  They are educational in a fun way. You get to sample ten wines in the Intro and the Chile & Argentina classes. Most wines are in the $10 to $25 price range. It’s very informal and I promise no snobs are allowed, including me.  For the Wine and Cheese Class, we have seven international wines matched with seven international gourmet cheeses.  Each class is two hours long and you get price lists for all the wines tasted. All wines are available here in Metro Vancouver. Classes might be income tax deductable if you have $100 worth of tuition in one tax year.

Introduction to Wine Education  starting Jan.  23, 2013.
Matching Wine with Cheese     starting Feb. 20, 2013
Wines of Chile and Argentina     starting Mar 14, 2013

Wines of Chili & Argentina  at Byrne Creek
Course #: 0042 Cost: $59.00
Although it is springtime in Vancouver, it’s harvest time in the vineyards of South America. And to celebrate the ‘crush’, we will transport you to Chile and Argentina to enjoy wines that are delicious, dependable, and decently priced. Argentina, the land of the gaucho, ranks fifth in world wine production, whereas Chile, the skinniest nation, is ninth. Not only do they produce an ocean-full of wine, they have centuries of expertise under their belt. Until recently, however, South Americans kept most of their wines to themselves. Nowadays, the BC wine lover is fortunate to enjoy an ever increasing array of their exports. Expect tasty Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Shiraz, and the dazzling Malbec and Carmenere in the flight of ten wines that showcase South America. Bread, fruit, and cheese will also be served.
